Summary of Primary Function / General Purpose of Position
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with 2-3 years of pediatric experience to provide specialized care for a 1-year-old baby.
The ideal candidate will offer professional and attentive care to ensure the child's health, safety, and well-being in a home setting.
This role involves monitoring the child's development, administering medications, and assisting with daily routines while maintaining a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Health Monitoring & Care : Regularly monitor the baby's vital signs, growth, and overall health. Administers prescribed medications and treatments as required.
Identify and respond to changes in the baby’s health condition or behavior. Ensure that the baby’s physical and emotional needs are met at all times.
Developmental Support : Assist with feeding, diapering, and ensuring proper hygiene.
Medication Management : Administer prescribed medications at scheduled times. Keep detailed records of medications administered, reactions, and any health changes.
Communicate effectively with parents and pediatricians about the baby's medication and treatment plans.
Emergency Response : Be prepared to respond quickly and effectively to any medical emergencies. Maintain up-to-date certifications in CPR, BLS and First Aid for infants.
Communication & Coordination : Regularly update parents on the baby’s health and development. Liaise with pediatricians, specialists, and other caregivers as necessary.
Document daily activities, health records, and any incidents for the family’s reference.
Household Support (As Needed) : Assist with light housekeeping related to the baby’s care. Organize and maintain cleanliness in baby’s supplies such as diapers, clothing, and formula.
Qualifications :
- Education : Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Experience : 2-3 years of experience in pediatric or neonatal infant care, particularly with children under 2 years old.
- Licensure : Active LPN license (Mandatory).
- Certifications : CPR, BLS and First Aid certification (Mandatory).
Skills :
- Strong knowledge of infant care, growth, and development.
- Ability to handle medical equipment related to infant care.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with families and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate, patient, and able to handle stressful situations with calmness.
Pre-Employment Requirements :
Before starting employment, the candidate must provide the following :
- Copy of Social Security Card
- Valid Driver's License
- Auto Insurance
- TB Test Result
- TB test results must be no older than 1 year.
- Must complete and submit a consent form for a criminal background check.
Working Hours : Monday to Friday 11 am to 5 pm
Salary : $35.00 per hour
Expected hours : No less than 30 per week
