Controller

Job Summary :

We are looking for a dynamic Controller to oversee our finance and accounting functions. This will include financial forecasting, reporting and ongoing collaboration with executive leadership. Analyzing financial data to identify opportunities for cost saving and growth while actively mentoring the finance and accounting team.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Accounting Oversight : Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable / receivable and payroll. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk

Financial Reporting : Preparation of accurate financial statements - balance sheets, income statements, financial dashboards - and monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stake holders

Budgeting and Forecasting : Develop, monitor and manage the company's annual operating budget and financial forecasts

Compliance and Audits : Ensure financial processes and reporting meet applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, coordinate with external auditors

Financial Analysis : Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks and areas for improvement and cost savings, providing counsel for executive decision making; with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

Tax Preparation : Manage all taxes including the preparation and filing of tax documents in compliance with local, state and federal regulations

Strategic Leadership :

• Lead, support and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a professional and collaborative team environment.
• Ensure that the finance and accounting team have the appropriate training and can partner in training other employees on expense reporting as needed
• Collaborate with executive management to align financial strategies with the company goals and objectives
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies; establish and maintain internal financial oversight to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud
• Recommend benchmarks to measure the company's performance
• Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
