TheRole :
A Parts Professional provides prompt and courteousservice to all customers over the telephone, in the store, or inthe dealer’s shop.
Looks up the parts application incatalogs or POS system. Processes orders for customers with ahigh degree of accuracy, efficiency, and courtesy.
Assistsand advises customers on how to best meet their needs, oftendealing with questions and problems of a highly technical nature.
Exhibits a thorough knowledge of products, performancestandards, warranties, sales programs, and operating policies. Serves as a resource for advice to other storepersonnel

- Implementsappropriate sales practices such as greeting customers,demonstrating product knowledge, and ability to quickly understandcustomer’s needs
- Maintainscustomer satisfaction by serving all customers, securing rightpart, and resolving customerissues
- Demonstratesprofessional attitude, conduct, and appearance
- MaintainsPOS computer abilities by learning and applying how to use catalogand system, practicing asset security / loss prevention controls, andunderstanding store’s pricing methods
- Providessales support functions by processing salespersons’ stock orders,reporting overages / shortages / damaged merchandise, and ensuring thegood appearance of store and displays
- Participatesin training as needed andrequired
- Performall other associated tasks as assigned bymanagement
Whatyou’ll need :
- HighSchool Diploma, or equivalent, required
- Ableto establish and maintain good relations with customers byproviding courteous, efficient, and professional service
- Befunctionally literate and capable of understanding and recognizingpart numbers and line codes to ensure proper selection and deliveryof parts, including identifying sequences of numbers and lettersaccurately and rapidly
- Demonstrateexcellent communication and organizational skills
- Enjoyworking with people in a fast-paced setting; be competitive, yethave the ability to work calmly under pressure
- BeASE Parts Specialist (automotive) certified
- Havea working knowledge of the part of the city the store services andbe able to operate a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission
- Ableto work retail hours at any store location as assigned bymanagement
Andif you have this, evenbetter :
- Capableof operating TAMS point-of-sale system and cataloging
- Ableto use the adding machine and process cash, check, and credit cardtransactions
- Visuallycapable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers andremembering their sequencing
- Ableto work on feet (stand and walk) for an entire assigned work shift
- Capableof lifting and moving parts and boxes of up to 60 pounds
- Ableto repeatedly bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and able toreach upper shelves (ten feet) with use of stool or ladder whennecessary
- Ableto move engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment withmoving aids designed to move such items, including hand trucks,barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts,etc
