Responsibilities :
- Disassembles and performs partial or complete overhaul of engines, transmissions, and differentials
- Uses gauges, special tools, and specialized equipment to diagnose mechanical failure or problems
- Makes wheel alignments and balances wheels
- Installs and / or adjusts brakes, heaters and defrosters
- Replaces worn or broken parts
- Operates vehicles to diagnose problems and validate that repairs have been completed
- Repairs gasoline and diesel engines
- Repairs equipment and machinery as necessary
Job Requirements
- Familiarity with automobiles and repairs
- Must be computer literate
- Must have a valid driver’s license and DMV Drivers Abstract must be provided
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Skills / Qualifications
- General knowledge of automobiles and automobile repairs
- At least 1 year of experience to be considered
- High School diploma or GED ASE Certification preferred
- NYS Inspectors License preferred
- Mathematical and reading skills
- Ability to learn new technology
- Ability to learn new service techniques and procedure
