Position Highlights

The University of Arizona's Arizona Arts Live is seeking an Engagement Program Coordinator. The Engagement Program Coordinator is responsible for researching and assessing Arizona Arts Live experiences to identify appropriate and meaningful partners for relevant and varied engagement projects.

This role involves investigating potential partners' backgrounds, portfolios, and reputations, and evaluating their fit based on their authentic connection with their communities, style, expertise, and past work.

The Coordinator will develop and maintain a comprehensive database of partners and manage project agreements, budgets, and timelines.

Key duties include attending programming and production meetings, industry events, and conferences; preparing detailed reports and summaries on research activities;

and maintaining the engagement calendar and descriptions. The Coordinator will analyze program data, solicit feedback, and continuously improve program offerings.

They will establish and nurture relationships with the community, including local and touring artists, project managers, and industry professionals, while liaising with the University and community partners to support and enhance program delivery.

This position requires a proactive approach to staying informed about industry trends and facilitating effective collaborations to ensure the success of artistic programs and projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Description

  • Assess the suitability of partners for specific projects based on their authentic connection with their communities, style, expertise, and previous work.
  • Develop a database or directory of community partners, local and touring artists, including contact information and relevant details for future collaboration.
  • Develop agreements, offers, and coordinate project budgets.
  • Attend programming and production meetings, develop notes and any follow up necessary.
  • Attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions to connect with potential collaborators and stay updated on current trends.
  • Attend industry conferences or convenings as required.
  • Prepare reports and summaries on research activities, including recommendations for potential projects and collaborations.
  • Draft, compile information, proofread and edit certain correspondences, presentations, program booklets, project descriptions, project reports, project debriefs & evaluations, etc.
  • Create and maintain project timelines with Executive Director; report progress of projects and timelines to executive leadership.
  • Analyze program data to evaluate success and impact, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain programming calendar and program descriptions to be disseminated to other departments, input updates.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging artists, and new project formats by reading relevant publications and attending events.
  • Regularly review program processes and outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuously solicit feedback from participants, partners, and stakeholders to refine and enhance program offerings.
  • Highlight and document successful aspects of the program to share with the community and support future funding efforts.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with artists, project managers, and other industry professionals.
  • Facilitate introductions and connections between artists and relevant stakeholders or organizations.
  • Liaise with University and Community partners.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to support and enhance program delivery.
  • Liaise with artists and artist management.
  • Engage with community members to encourage participation, address concerns, and gather feedback.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Southern Arizona's diverse communities.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of Southern Arizona's arts industry.
  • Ability to work autonomously while adhering to University policies and with the guidance of Arizona Arts Live's mission.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills, including in-person communication and public speaking.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent or conversational in Spanish.
  • Extensive community engagement experience.
