Bookkeeper - Real Estate
About Us : CFS of New York is working with a reputable real estate firm specializing in property management, leasing, and sales.
They are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team and support our financial operations.
Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for property operations.
- Monitor tenant accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments as needed.
- Coordinate with property managers and leasing agents to ensure timely recording of rental income and expenses.
- Assist with year-end financial reporting and tax preparation as needed.
Qualifications of the Bookkeeper :
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in the real estate industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
