Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations
Nature of Work
Thefundamental reasons this position exists are to perform project managementduties, conduct application development, assist with server and databaseadministration duties;
and perform highly technical and analytical Geographic InformationSystem (GIS) work. The Senior GIS Analyst serves as a principal expert and leadanalyst for the GIS Division.
The Senior GIS Analyst will perform highlytechnical and analytical GIS work; and provide support, training, and technicalassistance to GIS users.
The Senior GIS Analyst is distinguished from the GISAnalyst in that the Senior GIS Analyst performs highly analytical work and is responsiblefor some developer and administrator responsibilities, as well as providingproject management for GIS projects.
The Senior GIS Analyst operates withextensive independence and reports to the GIS Manager. The Senior GIS Analystoperates with significant autonomy and reports to the GIS Manager or torespective department heads across various departments.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor’sdegree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Planning, ComputerScience, Engineering, or a closely-related field and three (3) years ofexperience creating and analyzing spatial data, developing GIS applicationsolutions, and providing user support to include at least one (1) year ofproject coordination / management and GIS applications development andmaintenance experience.
NOTE : Qualifying education, training, andexperience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities toperform the job will be considered.
Kind of Examination
