Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.

5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.

S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Team Lead, System Administrator Position

The Team Lead, System Administrator for the Technology Service Center (TSC) is the lead point of contact for technology issues at Colonial Pipeline across multiple departments including IT infrastructure, telecommunications, network, systems, field controls, and SCADA.

A Colonial Team Lead, Systems Administrator is responsible for leading a technology team that monitors and supports various technical disciplines, including networks, servers, voice, physical and cybersecurity, and industrial control systems providing 24x7x365 support.

A team lead is expected to engage the team and learn all current technologies utilized in Colonial and will be given the access and opportunity to do so.

Additionally, the team lead role includes monitoring and learning about future technologies to guide the team and engage in planning with leadership to bring in new technologies to Colonial for business purposes.

What You Get to Do :

  • Managing and resolving all major IT incidents that have a significant impact on critical infrastructure for business operations.
  • Involved in coordinating the efforts of technical teams, communicating with stakeholders and implementing processes to prevent future incidents.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Systems Administrators, providing guidance, training and support.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the monitoring and support of 200+ network sites including MPLS, IP Satellite, radio, cellular and dial-up communications.
  • Monitors, maintains and supports over 1000+ networking devices including routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Leading the support designated servers, systems, and applications as required by the systems administrators.
  • Solid understanding of telecommunications including VoIP systems, PRI’s, POTS, etc.
  • Leads initiatives to implement improvements, increase efficiency, and reduce incident occurrence.
  • Is the primary point of contact for internal customers, vendors, and support personnel to achieve maximum uptime on critical technology.
  • Escalates issues internally and with vendors and service providers
  • Works with external vendors and service providers to resolve issues
  • Coordinates resources between departments, service providers to maintain operations and resolve major incidents.

What You Bring to the Table :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and / or education.
  • Ideally, 5 years of experience in a related TOC / SOC / NOC role; including 1+ years of experience leading a technical team.
  • ITIL certification or 2 years of working in ITIL frameworks.
  • Ideally, 3 years of experience in running multisite IT operations with a focus on major incidents and monitoring.
  • Must be located within a reasonable commute 60+ / - minutes to the Alpharetta, GA office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
  • Understands network traffic analysis and log analysis from various systems and applications to identify and isolate systems issues and security concerns.
  • Provides an excellent customer experience with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
