We are looking to add a Professional Groomer to our team at Church Ranch Veterinary Center to support an influx of grooming clients.

CORE RESPONSIBILITES (can include but are not limited to) :

• Supports Mission, Vision and Values of Destination Pet
• Trimming pets' nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears.
• Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners' instructions or standard grooming styles.
• Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have.
• Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.
• Routinely cleaning work areas.
• Recommending suitable products to pet owners.
• Answering any questions clients may have with a friendly attitude.
• Keep the receptionist informed about pets that are ready for pick-up.

REQUIREMENTS :

Expertise & Experience :

• Must be a pet fanatic - pets are part of our family!
• 2+ years of professional grooming experience (required)
• Displays a professional manner at all times.
• Having the ability to work under pressure while still following proper procedure.
• Time management skills, patience, and a positive attitude
• Ability to operate a phone, computer and learn facility software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with animal behavior, body posture and hair textures.

Physical :

• Bathing requires sitting, standing, walking, and lifting more than 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant / sanitation chemicals, animal hair / fecal matter, hot / cold temperatures and getting wet.

Need a new set of Grooming Clippers? No Problem! Here at Destination Pet, we want our groomers to have nothing but the best!

PAY : YOU can CHOOSE

Start at an hourly wage for 60 days before changing to the commission terms listed below

Hire on at 50% commission (or 40% commission if you are working with a bather thus allowing you to do more dogs and make more money)

30% on basic bath (Usually the animal care staff does these, but sometimes they need help).
