Job Title : Sr. Electrical Engineer
Job Description
- Design projects from schematic design through construction with a other lead engineers
- Provide necessary support as required for mechanical, HVAC (for Mechanical Engineer) and lighting, power, riser diagrams, electrical circuiting, voice / data, security, AV, and fire alarm systems (for electrical)
- Check shop drawings and assist during construction-Majority of responsibility will be production work leading to individual design responsibilities
- Preparation and supervision of preparation of contract documents including schematic design, design development and final construction drawings and specifications
- Deliver accurate and thorough code compliant designs meeting industry standards within budget constraints
- Review and carry out complex electrical technical studies and prepare high caliber reports
- Proficiency with construction process and constructability issues
- Resolve site construction issues, attend site meetings and perform site inspections during the construction phase of projects
- Review internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability
- Perform quality assurance and quality control tasks on projects
Qualifications
- United States accredited BS degree in Electrical Engineering required
- PE highly preferred
- Experience within practical design experience working on building systems
- Must have 10+ years of post-graduate electrical engineering experience in the United States
- Must have knowledge of NEC, NFPA70, NFPA72 and Chicago Building Codes.
- Revit MEP highly preferred
- Must be local- this is a hybrid position
