Job Description
The Administrative Assistant reports to the Executive Director of Campaign Strategy and is responsible for the overall workflow and administrative activities for the Board of Regents and Campaign Strategy Team.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing all communications and meetings for the Board of Regents and Presidential Consultation Program as well as the Campaign Volunteer Committee as needed.
This includes : scheduling meetings with senior academic and administrative leaders throughout Boston College, supporting the planning and execution of all Board of Regents meetings, conference calls, video calls and any related retreats and gatherings throughout the course of the year;
assisting in developing agendas and supporting materials for meetings and external communications; and organizing all catering, audio / visual and logistical needs in partnership with the Program and Events team.
This position involves extensive contact with high level executive alumni volunteers as well as the office of the Senior Vice President of University Advancement.
Other key university departments include the President’s Office, the Provost’s Office, Campus Mission and Ministry, Student Affairs, Athletics, and Dining Services.
This position demands an ability to execute a variety of tasks with precision, flexibility, and confidence while working independently as well as within a team.
The Administrative Assistant will often handle confidential materials; therefore, good judgement and discretion are required.
A collaborative and service-oriented attitude is essential.
Hiring Range : $26.76 / hr to $33.43 / hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
- This position requires high schooldiploma, bachelor’s degree preferred, and 3-5 years of increasingly responsibleadministrative experience in a professional setting;
- strong interpersonal andorganizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; excellent oral andwritten communication skills, including effective phone communication skills;
- accurate typing skills; a working knowledge of Google Suite and Windows PC,including Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Customer RelationshipManagement databases;
exceptional proofreading; strong attention to detail; acommitment to accuracy; and very adept at handling multiple tasks and workingwell within deadlines.
Also requires ademonstrated ability to compose a variety of strong, clearly written materials,good judgment, discretion in handling confidential materials, ability to workindependently without close supervision, and flexibility to work beyond theregular hours of the workday when necessary.
Candidate must possess solid knowledge of grammar and punctuation and behighly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
