Job Title : DevOps Engineer I
Summary : Under close supervision, the DevOps Engineer I assists the development, security, infrastructure, and operations teams in onboarding new technologies.
This role involves a collaborative approach to identify and optimize interdependencies between these teams, from development to production.
Job Duties :
- Assist in suggesting improvements to ensure the operation of the company's high-traffic, business-critical Internet production environment.
- Help manage load configuration of a central data communication processor.
- Propose and implement network system enhancements (software and hardware updates).
- Serve as a contact for basic performance analysis, scalability, and smaller service architecture / database administration issues.
- Help coordinate equipment orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Knowledge of networks, products, and protocols.
- Knowledge of Unix, Windows NT / 2000 / 98, Internet Security, Oracle ERP, and Distributed Computing Systems.
- Knowledge of database / software / documentation / monitoring and version control tools.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Troubleshooting skills.
Education & Experience :
Typically requires an undergraduate degree and 0-2 years of related experience; or equivalent experience.
Reports to : Manager or higher.
