Apply today!Job Description The Inspection Development and Engineering team is looking for a driven and dynamic engineer interested in a challenging and rewarding career, specializing in advanced non-destructive testing and sensor development! Work with a talented team to develop non-destructive testing technologies for application at the laboratory, at vendors, and for shipboard inspections.

A successful candidate must be able to work both independently or in a team environment, as well as be self-directing and highly detail oriented.

You will be expected to develop creative solutions using established and new technologies, be cognizant of all phases of your work including planning, tracking, operations, safety, quality, and technical writing.

Work in this area will focus on developing and applying novel non-destructive testing solutions to additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, structural health monitoring, and automation.

Perform hands on laboratory development work and work with vendors. The successful candidate has the opportunity to complete necessary NDT certifications, qualify as a shipyard radiation worker, and travel to support shipboard inspection programs (Up to 5 percent travel).

  • Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience;
  • or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience;

or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE / ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.

Preferred Skills Certification or experience with Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Electromagnetic Testing (ET), Radiographic Testing (RT) or other non-destructive testing method.

Experience in the development and application of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing techniques. Experience with sensors, instrumentation, signal processing, and circuit analysis and design.

Software development / programming experience (.NET, C#, Java, or Python), data acquisition and analysis, and engineering analysis Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Physics degrees preferred.
