We have a phenomenal opportunity to add a Senior HRBP (Human Resources Business Partner) to our People + Culture (P+C) team.

As a Senior HRBP on our team, you will support various business lines and work across our entire District. You will use HR methodologies, and your knowledge of employee engagement, organizational effectiveness and change management (leadership coaching and development) to get results and to continue to mature the HRBP function toward a true consultative partnership with our business groups.

You are able to think and plan strategically, but are also highly capable completing the tactical work as well.

In this critical role your day-to-day work will support the strategic direction for people programs and initiatives that support business line objectives, organizational goals, and values.

You will coach and provide counsel to senior leaders to help drive effective people practices with your group. You will be a change leader and people evangelist ensuring that business strategies also support the growth and development of all our employees and position the organization for now and in the future.

Your high energy, passion and collaborative approach is essential as the main point of contact between the business line and the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to support the flawless execution of people programs.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Owns the People + Culture partnership with large, more numerous, and / or more complex or matrixed client groups.
  • Collaborate closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, boost morale, and foster efficiency and retention.
  • Coach / mentor leaders in standard techniques for effective people management, such as change management, employee engagement, recruiting, performance management, maintaining a positive work atmosphere, providing rewards and recognition, encouraging teamwork and promoting collaboration, etc.
  • Work closely with group leaders to understand, recommend, and implement people strategies and drive for strategic change on people initiatives.
  • Act as strategic and trusted adviser and change agent to client groups with focus on the leadership teams.
  • Provide expertise, mentorship and coaching on highly confidential and sophisticated HR related matters for complex and matrixed business lines.
  • Take a hands-on approach to help to build a culture that reflects the Bank’s core values that supports a high level of employee morale and full engagement;

assess the pulse of the employees on satisfaction.

  • Build partnerships with human resources Centers of Excellence (recruiting, learning and development, total rewards, etc.).
  • Proactively analyze and identify sophisticated people issues and trends. Recommend solutions and complete appropriate actions.
  • Leads business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Mentor and partner with other HR professionals as needed.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development (OD) or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of ten or more years of demonstrated ability in a strategic Human Resources role working with business line C-suite and senior level executives.
  • Experience building strong and trusted relationships at all levels of the business and, in particular, with senior level leadership.
  • Ability to think strategically, and act tactically.
  • Detailed understanding of business strategy and HR business practices including workforce development, leadership development, organizational structure and design, change management, culture, team dynamics and employee engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and deliver integrated and holistic solutions.
  • Strong solutions focus and comfort level in an environment which demands results and the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions quickly in collaboration with leadership and COEs.
  • Experience working with a diverse staff of both non-exempt and exempt employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise excellent judgment with sensitive issues.
  • Strong coaching, conflict resolution, relationship and team building skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; solid ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and create and conduct effective presentations.
  • Intermediate PowerPoint and Excel skills (including the ability for creating spreadsheets and working with formulas).
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and standards.
  • Excellent priority setting and project / time management skills, able to change directions when needed.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card holder with the intent to become a U.S. Citizen.
  • Up to 10% travel.

Base Salary Range : Min : $151,500 - Mid : $196,700 Max : $241,900 (Location : San Francisco)

Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.

This position is hybrid. Remote is not offered for this position.
