District Manager : Location : Wilmington, DeSalary : $90,000POSITION PURPOSE :
The District Manager is responsible for providing direction for the daily operation of assigned Retail Stores and ADC’s in their assigned district to ensure achievement of short and long term budgeted goals.
The District Manager is responsible for revenue generation. The position is responsible for the implementation of effective business strategies that ensure business profitability including but not limited to exceeding all retail metrics.
The District Manager is responsible for all retail locations personnel with an emphasis on management, training, and development.
This individual will exemplify high standards of integrity and achieve success in safety, quality, and team member engagement.
This position is a member of the Quality Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES :
Follows safety policies and procedures ensuring maximum safety, security, and protection of all customers and company assets for locations supervised.
Ensure security procedures are in place to minimize internal and external shrinkage. Remain on call for emergencies such as break-ins, fire power failures, etc.
- Responsible for the revenue generation that meets or exceeds revenue goals within districts.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding all retail metrics including but not limited to; wage to revenue ratios, transaction and transaction value expectations, production goals and overall expense to revenue budgets.
- Ensure the implementation of revenue generating plans designed to improve sales and reduce costs.
- Responsible implementation of programs that focus on the efficient handling / production of donated goods (accepting, processing, stocking, and rotation) and the best use of sales and merchandising techniques to maximize revenues.
- Ensure compliance of all divisional functions and facilities with Department of Labor, OSHA, federal, state, and local rules and regulations, ensuring workplace is free from discrimination and harassment.
- Conduct periodic audits of cash management, revenue / expense, payroll allocation / usage, production / inventory control, security / safety controls, store maintenance needs, merchandising, and store branding / signage standards.
- Ensure all new store managers are oriented and trained in all required work processes, procedures, and on expected standards of performance.
- On-going evaluation of store manager’s performance, providing action plans to establish mandated goals and objectives at the store manager level.
- Hold store managers accountable regarding policies and procedures for Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll, Loss Prevention, Safety, Accounting, and IT Systems.
Ensure store managers are aware of new policies and procedures and implemented accordingly.
- Work with store managers and recruiting to ensure proper staffing allocation in all locations. Conduct final interviews of regions’ field management team while complying with all company hiring policies.
- Follow all policies and procedures regarding Paycom (HRIS). District Managers, in addition to holding store managers accountable, need to utilize Paycom not just for payroll and benefits but also for HR Functions, utilizing Applicant Tracking System, scheduling of team members, training documentation, etc.
- Effectively utilize technology systems to communicate, perform job functions, and analyze financial data and performance indicators.
- Completion of special projects and location events as attendance is required.
- Communicates progress, problems, and new developments on a regular basis to VP of Donated Goods Retail.
- Must be able to work the necessary hours to achieve all current and future business goals given by the VP of Donated Goods Retail.
In addition to being able to work varied hours / days as business needs dictate (including nights and weekends).
All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s Degree (from an accredited university / college) preferred, minimum of 10 years’ experience with retail management experience with at least three to five years managing multiple retail locations.
Must have extensive retail management experience and the ability to effectively execute Goodwill’s retail strategies, goals and objectives.
Ability to be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Applications and database management required.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with ambiguity. Ability to work with little supervision. Must be able to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
