About this opportunity :

Serves as a resource for property maintenance needs for multiple properties at different locations; assists the Property Manager in maintaining awareness with all property maintenance needs;

recommends and coordinates a plan to ensure the protection and maintenance of property is maintained.

Performs a variety of building maintenance and repair work for facilities, grounds, and vehicles. Assists Property Manager as needed with outside vendor services for maintenance and repairs.

• Ensures the day-to-day general maintenance and repair of the buildings, grounds, and vehicles are completed in accordance with accepted standards;
• Ensures all equipment remains in proper working order and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards;

operates a Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up and / or deliver materials; maintains inventory of Salvation Army material as needed.

What we are looking for in you :

Education and Experience :

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with two years course work from a vocational or technical school in heating, ventilation, and air condition, plumbing, electrical, and construction trades AND
• Five years progressively responsible experience performing skilled maintenance and repair work for commercial buildings and grounds, with one year experience monitoring work of outside vendor services OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.

Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.

Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.

Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints.

Ability to drive a vehicle safely and in compliance of all laws and regulations.

Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, stooping, squatting, and lifting.

Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.

Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) frequently.

Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
