Volt is immediately hiring a Structural Design Engineer with a PE licensefor a company in Kansas City, MO. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity!

The Structural Design Engineer will use engineering systems and drawings to provides project coordination and structural design services and models for customers.

The Engineering department provides safe, creative, quality and in place cost efficient structural and construction engineering solutions for internal customers (e.

g. manufacturing, project management and field erection) as well as external customers with superior customer service.

The Structural Design Engineer's primary duties and responsibilities includes :

• Provides well utilized designs of members and connections for Detailing and Manufacturing that meet customer’s requirements
• Assures building’s structural integrity and safety
• Develops own basic product and procedure knowledge and improve technical knowledge
• Focuses on achieving department objective and profitability goals and continuous improvement as part of a high-performance work team
• Assures customer design service needs are met by meeting design schedules
• Collaborates with project teams to discuss problems and challenges and help create solutions to move forward in a cost effective and efficient manner
• Provides technical assistance to customers on specific projects as well as to new entry level Designers
• Develops structural quotes

This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineer or equivalent with a structural emphasis.
• Professional Engineering registration in any state is required.
• Must have at least 5+ years of experience designing and / or managing structural steel building projects.
• Must have 5+ years of pre-engineered building (PEB) experience.
• Solid knowledge of building codes and specifications.
• Competent knowledge of company product and design procedures.
• Competent in company systems and applications.
• Experience in any of the following programs : STAAD, RISA, RAM, SAP 2000, Revit, Tekla, or AutoCAD.

Salary : $100,000 $112,000 / yearly *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
