Windows Engineering Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Windows Engineering Lead to join our dynamic team in Denver. As a Windows Engineering Lead at TruU, Inc.

you will take charge of the development and enhancement of our Windows-based applications, focusing on robustness, security, and scalability.

Your leadership and technical expertise will be instrumental in shaping our product roadmap and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and secure Windows applications using C# and potentially C++.
• Implement and enhance authentication mechanisms, including WinBio and Credential Providers, to strengthen security features.
• Apply application design principles (SOLID / DRY), design patterns, and best practices to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and technical specifications.
• Utilize Agile Application Development and Scrum methodologies to drive efficient project execution.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, and promote software engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Windows software development using C#.
• Proficiency in authentication mechanisms, WinBio, and Credential Providers is highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of application design principles (SOLID / DRY), design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
• Familiarity with C++ is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience working collaboratively in distributed teams to ship major features and releases.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members in remote settings.
• Proven experience in leadership roles, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
• Approachable and easy to work with, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud technologies and security protocols.
• Knowledge of biometric authentication systems.
• Previous experience in the security or authentication industry.
• Experience with directory services such as Azure or Okta.
• Familiarity with FIDO2 authentication standards.
• Experience with certificate authorities (CA) and certificate management.
