Department Information : Lane Community College, a comprehensive community college in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, has begun the search for a Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness.

Salary / Wage Range : Starting Salary Range $115,425 - $124,844 Annual (Management Salary Grade 26)
Salary / Compensation Statement :
Employees newly hired into this position are placed within the first three (3) steps of the salary range. The application is used to determine the initial salary placement for selected candidates.

Required QUALIFICATIONS :
Required Education : Master’s degree in a relevant field such as education, public policy, data science or other relevant field.
Required Experience :
- Three (3) years experience in institutional research, data analysis, data analytics, or related fields.
- Three (3) years experience coordinating strategic planning efforts.
Conditions of Employment :

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS :
Preferred Experience :
- Experience supervising multiple direct reports in an educational setting.
- Leadership experience in institutional research or data analysis within education.
- Experience leading institutional efforts in the design, reporting, and publication of meaningful and useful data.
- Experience conducting information analyses and creating reports to support planning and improvement efforts.
- Experience ensuring institutional compliance and supporting accreditation through effective data management and reporting.
Position Purpose :
The Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness plays a critical role in leading and coordinating data-informed decision-making across all areas of the College with a particular focus within academic affairs.
Essential Functions :
- Design, develop and implement a comprehensive institutional research, planning, assessment, and effectiveness agenda aligned with the college’s strategic priorities and data reporting requirements.
- Oversee the collection, validation, and maintenance of institutional data from various sources.
- Lead the design and execution of surveys, studies, and analyses to support institutional assessment.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative units to identify benchmarks for measuring institutional effectiveness and student success.
- Provide timely and accurate reports and visualizations to support decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor departmental staff.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and technologies in institutional research.
- Represent the college at conferences and meetings.
- Ensure the implementation of the College’s Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunities policies.
- Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with higher education policy and accreditation standards.
