POSITION SUMMARY : SEMHA is currently seeking a Dental Hygienist to work at the Wayne County Healthy Communities Clinic located in the heart of Hamtramck, a city celebrated for its diverse workforce, welcoming neighborhoods, and vibrant cultural community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Provide preventive dental care, including cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, proper brushing and flossing techniques, and nutrition for dental health.
• Take and develop dental radiographs as needed.
• Work collaboratively with dentists and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
• Participate in Michigan’s Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment (KOHA) Program by providing screenings and oral health education to young children, both in the clinic and through outreach activities at schools and community locations.
• Deliver preventive dental care services to patients under Public Dental Prevention Program PA 161.
