Job Description : The Sustainability Engineering Manager will assist NY CREATES in leveraging opportunities in the project design phase and beyond to reduce energy, carbon, water, and waste while promoting health and wellbeing.
This individual must be technically and analytically minded, and able to articulate ideas and concepts, using research and the latest technologies to guide the site toward innovative designs.
The individual must understand the nature of change management and be prepared to champion ideas and earn buy in, among both colleagues and tenants while building out a team of engineers to further site sustainability efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSManage sustainability projects internal to NY CREATES and in conjunction with partners within the Albany NanoTech ecosystem and throughout the world.
Serve as primary representative for NY CREATES in sustainability focused initiatives with industry and academics (such as SEMI, SRC, or NSF initiatives) and continually assess, modify, and communicate company progress.
Build a team of sustainability experts to further site sustainability efforts.Other reasonable duties as assigned. Requirements : MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in science, engineering, architecture, or another technical / design program.
Minimum of 7 years industry experience in sustainability consulting, green building, or engineering, preferably in the manufacturing or semiconductor sectors.
Management experience.ANDEnthusiastic and resilient, innovative, and technically grounded while remaining initiative-taking with a desire to learn about the future of sustainability.
Highly organized and meticulous, good time management with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Proficient in MS Office applications.Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
Candidates must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population. PREFERED REQUIREMENTSMaster's degree in a related field.
Preferably in science, engineering, architecture or another technical / design program and 5+ years industry experience in sustainability consulting, green building, or engineering.
