IHA and St. Mary Mercy Hospital have excellent opportunities for Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatry physicians to serve as teaching faculty for the Psychiatry Residency program located in Livonia, Michigan. Â
The Department of Behavioral Medicine is seeking two full-time Psychiatry physicians interested in providing direction and leadership within the Residency program.
The ideal candidates will be interested in providing excellent patient care and education of Residents in a supportive and collegial atmosphere.
The Department also seeks one full-time Board-Certified Child-Adolescent Psychiatry physician to initiate and direct clinical services and resident education in child and adolescent psychiatry in the outpatient setting as well as provide occasional consultation to the Emergency Department.
These opportunities offer flexible schedules and an environment that can provide physicians with diversity and balance in their work with resident education, individual patient care, scholarly activity, faculty development, and quality improvement.
Clinical settings include outpatient services, inpatient Mental Health Unit (MHU) and Psychiatric Emergency Service (PES).
Plans exist to create a Partial Hospital and a Child / Adolescent outpatient service. Priority for new faculty pertains primarily to the outpatient service, with potential opportunity in other areas, depending on the interest, skill, and experience of the candidate.
The call schedule for these opportunities includes one weekend every four to six weeks supervising clinical rounds with the Residents in the hospital services - MHU, CL and PES, as well as three to four nights a month of telephone back-up call for the in-house Residents.Â
Physicians who are Fellowship trained and Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry or Geriatric Psychiatry are encouraged to apply.Â
New graduates and experienced practitioners will be considered for this opportunity.Â
