JobDescription

MajorDuties andResponsibilities :

• Warmlygreet incoming patients upon taking them back for pretesting beforetheexam.
• Administrativeduties included answering telephones scheduling patientappointments per doctor preferences and transcribing messages forreturn calls andfaxes.
• Performpretesting including blood pressure NCT color and stereo and autoperimetry
• Advocatefor overall health evaluation (i.e.Optomap)
• Collectand relay pertinent health and ocular history to thedoctor
• Conductcontact lens insertion and removaltraining
• Ordervarious types of contact lenses
• Maintainand cleaned equipment and doctorslanes
• Maintainproper levels of pretest / doctorsupplies

RequiredSkills / Knowledge :

• Demonstratedflexibility in addressing a broad spectrum of patient requirementsandpreferences.
• Demonstratedability to cultivate positive patient rapport and buildrelationships while increasing patientretention.
• Strongcommunication skills (oral and written) with the proven ability tomanage priorities in a fastpacedenvironment.
• Abilityto multitask set priorities and ensure that patientcommitments / deadlines aremet.
• Proficiencyin the utilization of automated equipment and systems standards inthe optometryindustry.

Qualifications :

• Highschool diploma GED orequivalent
• Experiencein the Ophthalmic / Optometric / medical industry is a plus but is notrequired.
• Amenableto reportingonsite

PhysicalRequirements :

• Thephysical demands described here are representative of those thatmust be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of thisjob.
• Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time read acomputer screen for long periods of time reach and lift up to 20lbs.

Hand dexterity and eye and hand coordination are critical. Theemployee is subject to inside environmentalconditions.
