The Role
The Senior Lead Service Design Analyst ensures that the service strategy is created to achieve the documented customer business requirements leaning on a deep understanding of Lumen and products and services including the complete product portfolio, sales and ordering systems, and technical solution design.
They are accountable to perform the function of design coordinator while maintaining a single point of coordination and control for all activities and processes within this stage of the services lifecycle.
Location
The Professional in this role should reside in the continental USA within the Central time Zone and be willing to travel when required for business-critical client and internal meetings.
The Main Responsibilities
- Design the functional aspects of the service strategy in support of the chosen infrastructure, application, and data management environments in alignment with Lumen’s operating model principles.
- Work closely with customers, account teams, pursuit team members, delivery and support teams, and peers to define operating and service levels required to meet business requirements and to ensure the solution is serviceable.
- Lead services design scoping sessions with the customer and peer Lumen teams including account team stakeholders.
- Enhance existing Lumen service component designs to complement the new service.
- Coordinate, validate, and rationalize development of services costs for delivering governance, plan, design, and implementation activities from all delivery organizations (i.
e. all technology organizations, partners, and geographies).
- Ensure appropriate margin is added by Business Development Managers and Offer Management, aligning with organizational standards.
- Oversee the service design process from research and concept development to prototyping and evaluation including identifying when Service Validation is required.
- Produce and review all service definitions, delivery terms and conditions, SLA’s, and assumptions (for all delivery organizations including partners) for inclusion in the Statement of Work (SOW) or similar artifact.
- Collaborate and review language for service descriptions, delivery terms and conditions, SLA’s, assumptions, and solution performance for insertion into the associated SOW or similar artifact.
- Ensure all contractual terms for providing third-party service provisions includes the appropriate operational vendor management model and service governance paperwork.
- Coordinate with Service Transition leader to ensure the Service Design is included in Service Transition plans, helping to ensure a successful hand-off to day 2 operational support.
- Represent the complete Lumen Product portfolio including UCC, Network, DIA, MPLS, SASE, SDWAN, Security, Cloud Services, and M&P including AMS, TAIM, TMNS, IMS, NCIS
- Support account teams, Solution Center, and Offer Management with Lumen sales and ordering processes, quoting systems, etc.
from quote to cash including Scenario Manager, submitting order to SWIFT, validation of complete orders in Flightdeck, and other back-end systems, etc.
Understand and support the sales tea on solution technical design, service delivery, and general operational support models
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Eight years minimum in a managed services, operations, networking, communications, program or project management, or other technical role.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent years of experience. Advanced Degree is a plus.
- Moderate to Advanced technical knowledge across Global network infrastructure, edge cloud capabilities, connected security, communication, and collaboration services.
- Business acumen to overcome business and technical hurdles, demonstrating the business benefits and operational path required to achieve change.
- Able to maintain focus on objectives while also managing through ambiguous and dynamic business environments.
- Comfortable working in both a direct and matrixed operating structure with minimal oversight
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
- Executive presentation skills as well as the ability to build and present high-quality solutions to both technical and executive audiences.
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
The Base Salary Ranges listed do not include other incentives that may be possible with this role.

$94,420-$125,890 in these states : AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.
$99,390-$165,640 in these states : AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.
$104,360-$173,930 in these states : CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
$138,600-$182,220 in these states : AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
