We are currently seeking a Chief Psychiatrist to join our team at Wernersville State Hospital located in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.

This position is M-F, hours / week.

The Chief of Psychiatry has hospital-wide responsibility for the planning, management, coordination, evaluation, and integration of psychiatric services to further comprehensive patient treatment at Wernersville State Hospital.

It is expected that each employee at Wernersville State Hospital will demonstrate respectful behavior that values the thoughts, feelings, and opinions of others.

The Chief of Psychiatry evaluates and makes psychiatric care and treatment decisions on all patients under his / her care.

He / she is responsible for deciding when to make referrals to supervisors or specialists. He / she is responsible for evaluating the quality of care of the employees he / she supervises and makes decisions on their ratings.

The Chief of Psychiatry interprets and enforces hospital, departmental and personnel policy as well as CMS or other accreditation requirements.

The Chief of Psychiatry deploys available clinical resources to assure that there is adequate psychiatric coverage. The Chief of Psychiatry renders consultation opinions to staff psychiatrists and psychiatric supervisors when requested.

The Chief of Psychiatry is responsible for decisions regarding the transfer of patients from one unit to another.

Qualifications

• Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry
• Possession of a current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners
• BE / BC
• Current / valid unrestricted Certificate.
• Experience in leadership of a mental health multidisciplinary treatment team.
• All qualified applicants are required to successfully complete a security clearance process as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
