R&D-Scientist/Engineer: Imaging & Analytical

The primary functions of this role are to execute established Imaging & Analytical methods to enable and accelerate R&D initiatives and resolve technical challenges;

recommend and contribute to the optimization / modification of existing Analytical and Imaging methods and processes and establishment of new ones to meet evolving R&D needs and over time develop understanding of chemistries, materials and process transformations to create greater value and / or eliminate wasted effort / cost.

Responsibilities

• Without supervision the incumbent must be proficient in :
• ability to perform execution of established Analytical and Imaging methods to achieve desired goals or results.
• performing against multiple projects in parallel.
• mentoring junior employees on activities execution to exploit new skills and ways of thinking.
• proficient in analyses of data to uncover new findings from R&D work.
• Functionally trains junior employees.
• image analysis software such as Volume Graphics and / or Avizo preferred
• With supervision and coaching, the incumbent is expected to develop :
• insights from experimental data
• key problem statements and fundamental understanding of technical models and / or mechanisms by connecting data sets or by connecting data with current organizational or industry knowledge and applying these to the R&D projects and activities being worked.
• insights from "project level" R&D work.
• ability to identify and improve (streamline or increase value) Imaging & Analytical methods to create greater value and / or eliminate wasted effort / cost.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Additionally, adherence and compliance with all Company wide and R&D specific policies and procedures is required.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science in Science / Engineering degree.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
