Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a 9-month, faculty position at the assistant professor rank to begin Fall 2025.
This position will join the Criminology and Criminal Justice Program, which is part of the School of Social Work.
Applicants for this position must possess a in Criminology & Criminal Justice, or a closely related field (well qualified candidates who will receive their prior to July 1, 2025 may be considered).
A law degree / is insufficient for this position. Our faculty are scholar-teachers and we are looking for a colleague who can contribute to our graduate and undergraduate teaching needs as well as enhance our research profile.
While area of specialization is open, the successful candidate will teach classes in statistics, research methods and other areas consistent with program needs and the candidate’s area of expertise.
There is a preference for candidates who can both support and expand our current curricular offerings. In addition, applicants must have a strong and established research agenda with a productive publication record commensurate with the stage of their career and sufficient to project to tenure.
We value community-engaged research and collaboration with local partners. Applicants who demonstrate a strong potential for and / or high achievement in securing extramural funding are preferred.
Primary responsibilities include conducting and publishing research, teaching and student mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and professional and university service.
