The Director of AMSTI position is responsible for effective oversight and management of the AMSTI site operations, including supervision of its staff in accordance with AMSTI policies established by the Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE).

Supervision may also include Alabama Science In Motion (ASIM) staff when such responsibilities are so delegated.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Proven experience as program director or other managerial position.
• Thorough understanding of project / program management techniques and methods.
• Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
• Knowledge of reporting and budgeting.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and program management software.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Experience as program director or manager of education and outreach services.
• Experience with management and oversight of grants.

Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties?

Driving is a primary responsibility.

Work Hours

8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, Monday through Friday. Hours before or after regular work hours may be required.
