Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a PROGRAMMER II to provide support for the development, documentation, testing and implementation of new computer systems.

Provides maintenance and support for programs within existing systems. Provides technical and administrative support to the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Collaborates with a variety of library departments / stakeholders to enhance services and programming using interactive technologies such as VR / AR / XR and 3D modeling
  • Participates in system enhancement projects involving scripting and data transformation Participates in a variety of data visualization and digital integration projects
  • Supports learning through the delivery of hands-on workshops focused on increasing technological knowledge
  • Ability to conduct workshops related to emerging technologies Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and workflows
  • Ability to lead collaborative development projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Hourly Rate : $21.10 - $23.00)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or a related field and two (2) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Master's degree in Computer Science with experience developing VR / AR applications using a variety of tools (Unity, CenerioVR, Adobe Aero, etc.

preferred. Experience working with a variety of 3D modeling software (Blender 3D, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) Familiarity with a variety of programming languages (Python, C++, etc.

Ability to conduct workshops related to emerging technologies, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Ability to quickly learn new processes and workflows, Ability to lead collaborative development projects and Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
