Position Summary :

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (BR) is a growing, award-winning, and established union highway / heavy contractor looking for a Milling Superintendent to join our team.

The Milling Superintendent position is a vital role within our organization. This position is responsible for hiring, maintaining, and training competent crews, managing schedules daily, weekly, and beyond.

They communicate with estimators and customers when work will be completed.

Our main office is located in Mendota Heights, MN. BR also has plant locations in Inver Grove Heights, Shakopee, Columbus, and Minneapolis.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership and maintain a positive / safe working environment.
  • Coordinate a project schedule with customers, superintendents, estimators, foreman, and public.
  • Coordinate all proper safety signs and equipment / personnel needed to complete a job.
  • Maintain good relationships / communication with employees and public for efficient job progress.
  • Identify project conflicts and come up with a timely / accurate solution and communicate with field personnel.
  • Oversee all phases, from initial planning to the completion of the project.
  • Anticipate personnel / equipment / tools needed to effectively keep a job moving.
  • Quality management ensure our final product is at or above BR and customer standards.
  • Educate constantly listen and learn from seasonal veterans and pass knowledge on whenever possible.
  • Communication ensure information is given and received by appropriate personnel on a daily basis.
  • Teamwork maintain a good attitude every day; crew morale impacts overall production and quality.
  • Mentor and train employees.

Preferred Experience / Education :

  • 5 years’ experience milling.
  • Milling foreman experience.
  • Management classes.
  • Maintenance classes (on mill).
  • Operator experience and safety awareness (MMUTCD, OSHA understanding).

Other Requirements : All candidates are required to pass a thorough background check, physical, and drug test. References will also be checked.
