Job Description

Duties / Responsibilities

The following reflects duties for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time for business reasons.

  • Plan, design and produce events while managing all project delivery elements within time limits
  • Liaise with internal clients to identify their needs and to ensure satisfaction
  • Conduct market research, gather information and negotiate contracts to maximize budgets
  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality
  • Organize and manage all event details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
  • Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities
  • Manage event budget and task list, ensuring event is completed within budget and on-time
  • Coordinate with communications to promote and publicize event when appropriate
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day
  • Coordinate with Manager to Conduct pre- and post event evaluations and report on outcomes
  • Research market, identify event opportunities and generate interest

  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams and coordinating complex projects
  • Strong reporting and follow-up skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to anticipate next steps and own communications / notifications
  • Ability to innovate and problem-solve on the fly
  • Thrives in a fast-pace environment

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Event Management, related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Previous event planning experience preferred but not required
