Job Description : Facility in Plattsburgh, NY is seeking a locum Anesthesiologist to cover bread and butter surgical cases as the primary anesthesiologist. This position is critical and requires immediate start upon credentialing. The highest volume is with orthopedic and general surgery cases. The role includes on-call duties, with a requirement to be within 15 minutes of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities :

Cover bread and butter surgical cases

Perform OB / Gyn, orthopedic, general surgery, plastic surgery, vascular, colorectal surgery, ENT, GI, and urology procedures

Regional blocks for OR cases (no outpatient pain management)

Participate in on-call duties, including OB cases

Work as a collegial part of a multi-disciplinary OR team

Adhere to assignments as directed by the Chief or Acting Chief

Schedule :

Monday to Friday : 7am - 3 : 30pm

On-call as agreed upon

Patient Load :

4-5 cases per day, roughly

Requirements :

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology

ACLS and MMR certifications required

Must have a clean file with no malpractice or work gaps to request temporary privileges

Ability to be on call and within 15 minutes of the hospital

Support and Collaboration :

Joining a mid-sized group of approximately 15 MDs, including per diems

Additional surgical staff includes CRNAs (2 in the practice), anesthesia techs, PAs, nurses, OR techs

Additional support staff includes directors and managers

Rarely supervise a CRNA

No AAs in the practice

Facility Information :

Trauma Level : Level III with ACS

EMR System : EPIC (no clinic work, 100% OR and L&D)

9 main ORs constructed approximately 18 years ago
