We are seeking an exceptional an experienced Tax Accountant with great attitude to join the J&L Tax family. This is a fulltime position.

Duties will include :

• Preparing business and individual tax returns and supporting work papers for various US Federal, State, and Local Jurisdictions
• Preparing State Sales and Use Tax returns for business clients
• Preparing weekly / monthly payroll & forms 1099, 941, 940, w-2, w-3
• Actively leading or participating in client discussions and meetings
• Researching and maintaining excellent knowledge of tax regulations
• Monthly client bank reconciliations in QuickBooks
• Additional accounting responsibilities and project work, as needed

Preferred Qualifications :

• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred from an accredited college.
• Enrolled Agent or CPA license (Preferred)
• 2+ years of work experience handling business, individual, estate and non-profit taxes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in reviewing accounting records typically in QuickBooks Online and making appropriate adjustments
• Strong attention to detail, deadlines and accuracy
• Ability to multi-task and work with a high volume of returns
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines
• Proficient with QuickBooks, ProSeries and Excel software is beneficial
• Available to work 45+ hours a week, evenings and weekends during tax season from January to April
• Desired to learn and grow professionally on your area of expertise

Hours and Compensation :

Schedule 35- 40 hours per week

Job Type : Full-time
