Essential Job Functions
Working under the direct supervision of the IT Manager and with a dedication to equity and inclusion, the person in this position will perform the following :
Provide help desk support for staff during specified hours.
Deploy and repair computer hardware, software, printers, copiers, fax machines, phones, and all related items.
Assist with the maintenance of the library’s inventory of physical hardware, subscriptions, and software licenses.
Help administer the library's electronic resources and cloud based applications including implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of these platforms.
Perform new equipment installations, departmental moves, or reorganizations.
Contact vendors as necessary for equipment repair, installation, and / or servicing.
Monitor and maintain the performance of Library hardware, system and software updates, and network security.
Inform supervisor of options concerning system performance, equipment maintenance, terminal configurations, and other related areas.
Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1 year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in a Public Library setting with direct patron service preferred
Hours
- Normal workweek is 40-hours.
- May include evenings, weekends; some flexibility required.
Wages
Starting / Hiring Range : $15.60 - $18.72, Hourly
Total Salary Range : $15.60 - $21.84, Hourly
Requirements
Working knowledge of Mac, Windows operating systems.
Basic understanding of network equipment and infrastructure.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills.
Demonstration of character and integrity in all situations while upholding SJCPL’s ethical standards.
Continuing professional development.
Dependability, punctuality, trustworthiness, good attendance, and work habits.
Valid driver's license.
Required to have the technical expertise to manage the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and account management.
Physical agility and strength to bend, reach, lift, and move equipment (up to 60 lbs.)
Spanish language skills preferred.
