Description
Machining production parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards;
keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Assist in product build process as required.
Operator roles in Ultra work under the guidance of a supervisor to perform operations duties safely and effectively and complete assigned duties in a timely manner.
These roles perform a range of clearly defined procedures, and will typically be considered skilled through on-the-job experience.
Resolves routine issues without supervisory approval. Has developed skills through formal training and / or work experience.
Capable of reading and understanding blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters;
interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Plans tooling inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed tooling; placing and expediting orders for stock;
verifying receipt of stock.
Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches;
calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Ability to set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers;
indicating vices; tramming heads.
- erifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to ISO standards. Maintains specifications by taking measurements;
- detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools;
adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests;
exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Required Skills :
3+ years of experience as a Machinist
Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
Desired Skills :
Familiarity with cutting Urethane a plus.
Willing to understand, write and edit G-code programming.
Willing to follow, document and maintain detailed machining procedures.

Lifting 25 lbs, regularly, 3 feet from the ground
Assisted lift by crane of 100 pounds to 4 feet off the ground. Standing 75% of the time running machine
