Description
Faculty member to provide instruction in assigned courses. Courses may be seated, synchronous, asynchronous, or hybrid. Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, grades, documentation for accreditation, etc.
and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines. Must be willing to travel to high school locations and work with high school students.
Serve on various campus committees and / or as an advisor for student organizations.
Examples of Duties
Provide effective instruction to students online and / or in the classroom by preparing for each learning experience, providing supplemental materials to enhance textbooks and lessons, and using effective evaluation methods to determine student performance.
Support student learning outside of the classroom by holding regular office hours, providing information about additional resources outside of class, and responding to emails and phone calls in a timely manner so as to promote student success.
Support curriculum development by participating in the creation and evaluation of courses, curriculum, and programs; participating in program advisory committees;
attending departmental, school-wide, and college-wide meetings; and serving as backup for other faculty members.
Promote the success of the college by participating in standing and / or ad hoc committees and following college professional and ethical guidelines.
Maintain teaching and work environment including equipment and supplies, overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards to provide a safe work environment.
Stay current in the field of the language of Spanish, as well as teaching methodology by meeting or exceeding all institutional professional development guidelines, participating in professional development workshops and seminars, and participating in professional organizations and reading journals in the teaching and the language of Spanish disciplines.
Maintain accurate records such as attendance, grades, information for accreditation, and other important data and submit reports according to college policies.
Communicate clearly, conscientiously, professionally, and in a caring manner with students and colleagues.
Participate in the orientation of new part-time and / or full-time faculty members, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree Requirements : A master’s degree (or higher) in the language of Spanish or a closely related field is required. If the master’s degree is in a closely related field, the applicant must have at least 18 graduate hours in the language of Spanish.
Experience Requirements : Experience teaching college-level Spanish language is strongly preferred. Experience with using instructional technology is required.
Experience teaching in both high school and college environments is a plus. Diversity of experience in teaching courses within the Spanish language discipline.

- Principles and techniques involved in curriculum and course development.

- Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities.
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Create effective instruction for delivery in both online and physical classrooms while maintaining compliance with ADA standards.

- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, proce dures, laws, and regulations.
- Work effectively in diverse teams, both within assigned department and cross-functionally across the college.
