ERM is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Site Consultant , embedded at a client location in Rochester, NY with travel to Madison, WI approximately 1 week a month .
In this role, you will work onsite with a client to support environmental compliance, management systems and safety. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging environmental, health and safety projects for a key client.
This is a full-time, 40 hour a week, limited-term consulting role with a 9 month extendable term.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, sustainability, site investigation, and due diligence transaction projects.
Perform EHS compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Train staff on health and safety plans.
Support the development of EHS compliance and management system programs.
Provide general EHS compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
Conduct environmental field work, including groundwater, soil, sediment, and surface water sampling and ecological field studies.
Conduct inspections to verify EHS compliance at customer sites
Perform multiple projects within scope / budget / schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to effectively manage projects.
REQUIREMENTS :
BS in occupational health and safety, environmental sciences, or related discipline is highly preferred. Masters a plus; Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Minimum of 7 years’ of environmental operational compliance and management system issues is required
Specific knowledge around environmental impacts from fermentation and refrigeration are preferred.
ASP, CSP, CHMM certifications or similar is desirable.
Effective written / verbal communication and organization / analytical skills; experience recording / writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Local candidates preferred.
