Position Summary & Responsibilities :
The position exists to provide clerical support and assistance to the School Bus Safety Education Unit staff and provide customer service to transportation personnel in schools across the state.

Required Minimum Qualifications :
Six months of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Skills and / or Qualifications :
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely on the telephone.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with fellow employees and Kansas schools.
- Proficiency with Windows based systems, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word programs.
- Knowledge of office procedures.
- Listen, comprehend, and respond to fellow employees and Kansas schools via telephone or email.
- Basic mathematical calculations.
- Accurate proofreading.
Preferred Experience :
Additional administrative experience in school transportation regulations and procedures and knowledge and / or experience in customer service.
