This is an Associate Faculty position in the Department of Allied Health & EMS for classes in the January, Spring 2025 semester at the JWCC Campuses in Quincy, Illinois.
Associate Faculty positions are non-tenure track, part-time, serving in a temporary or auxiliary capacity to teach specific courses on a course-by-course basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION
John Wood Community College (JWCC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic associate faculty member to join our Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program.
The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction in both classroom and clinical settings, ensuring students are well-prepared to become registered nurses (RNs).
This role focuses on delivering core nursing concepts, fostering critical thinking, and supporting student success throughout the program.
The curriculum for this program is career oriented and approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive instruction in both theoretical and clinical nursing courses aligned with the ADN curriculum.
- Supervise, guide, and evaluate nursing students in clinical settings, promoting the development of clinical competence and professional behavior.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that align with program objectives and meet accreditation standards.
- Provide timely feedback and academic support to help students achieve learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, including attendance, grades, and clinical evaluations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that respects diversity and promotes equity among students.
- Comply with institutional policies and accreditation requirements for nursing education and clinical practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Licensure :
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience is required, with teaching experience in a nursing education program preferred
Skills and Competencies :
- Strong clinical expertise in nursing practice and patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students effectively in both classroom and clinical environments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and provide individualized support to diverse learners.
- Familiarity with current nursing education trends, simulation technologies, and accreditation standards.
- Proficiency with instructional technologies and learning management systems (LMS).
Work Schedule :
This is a part-time position with flexible teaching hours, including both classroom instruction and clinical rotations.
Clinicals may take place during the day, evening, or weekends, depending on the program needs.
