MRP PLANNER/BUYER

This is an on-site position located in Shreveport, LA*

Job Purpose

Develop and execute plans to ensure materials are purchased at the lowest total cost at optimal quality and service levels

Essential Functions

• Coordinate, help direct, as well as perform, all required functions from initiation of an intent to purchase through to satisfactory delivery of material or services.
• Assure that material / services will be delivered on schedule, at negotiated price and meets required quality standards.
• Achieve lowest possible cost for material; balanced against optimum quality, schedules and standard inventory level needs, using key reports based off MRP & PRP requirements.
• Assure Consignment agreements and stock levels to meet business needs through knowledge of agreements and ERP system set-up / process and execution of bi-weekly validations and reports outs to Suppliers.
• Assure MRP & PRP accuracy through maintenance of Band and Item Master parameters within the ERP system (BaaN).
• Assure Manufacturing floor inventory through analysis of shop order shortages, leading to accurate back flush and / or completion of assembly or small parts requirements.
• Achieve optimal material flow through daily and weekly communications through updates to the Shortage report program and load analysis to the Master Scheduler on potential supplier lead-time issues.
• Assure business initiatives by supporting functions outside of Materials with ERP system set-up, procurement of samples, and participation in Projects / Action Work-Outs.
• Other Related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Demonstrated proficiency in site ERP system (BaaN) Planned Inventory Transactions, Inventory Transactions, Replenishment Orders, etc.
• Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgment, diplomatic.
• Strong interpersonal skills. Team player; proven leader, highly motivated, good presentation skills.
