ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS LoneStar Fasteners is looking for the right, qualified individuals to join our team! We have 1 immediate Material Handler position (full-time) open within the Production area for our 1st shift at our facility in Spring, TX! The Material Handler will need to maintain production and distribute production materials to specified work areas ensuring the materials are supplied per customer specifications as contained within the work order.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
- Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
- Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles or containers, by hand or using forklifts or other equipment.
- Ensure walk ways and staging areas are clear of pallets and material
- Dump scrap bins as needed for all departments by hand or using forklifts or other equipment.
- Sort cargo before loading and unloading; attach identifying tags to cargo or mark with identifying information.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Stack cargo in locations using pallets or cargo boards.
- Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
- Direct and position receptacles, such as bins, carts, or containers; attach devices to lift cargo and guide loads
- Perform other related duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE
0-2 years of related experience in a manufacturing / machining environment.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associate’s degree preferred.
- Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications
- Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance
- Must be able to work a shift schedule and overtime as needed, including weekends
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift
- Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms up to weighing 25-150 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close, Distance, Peripheral, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
- Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manufacturing environment with multi step process production runs on different machines. High value highly customized components and high precision manufacturing for critical service applications
