Building Aide
ESS Building Aides work in cooperation with administrators and teachers in maintaining orderly student behavior in the corridors, lavatories, and campus.
This position requires you to be able to read and write effectively while demonstrating the ability to to work cooperatively and well with students, administration, and teachers.
Applicants must be physically capable of walking, climbing stairs, and standing for long periods of time during the work day, as this role requires each.
An ESS Building Aide reports to and takes primary direction from the appropriate Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Assists with flow of traffic at key intersections during change of classes.
- Visits lavatories frequently to encourage proper use of these facilities.
- Tours corridors and campus while classes are in session to discourage unauthorized activity in these areas.
- Reports areas requiring cleanliness to the custodial department.
- Notifies administration of unsafe situations.
- May assist in the Supervision of campus as related to Unauthorized persons, non-registered cars, and the movement of students and guests.
- May assist visitors and students to locate specific areas and persons throughout the facility.
- May assist in the control of vehicular traffic on campus.
- Assists with supervision of cafeteria and restricted lunch when necessary.
- Assists with signing-in of students late to school.
- Assists in the verification of student absences.
- May be required to render reasonable non-medical assistance to ill or injured students by contacting others for help.
- May perform other related duties necessary to perform the duties of Building Aide.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in working with children.
- High School Diploma
- Pennsylvania State Police Clearance
- Child Abuse Clearance
- FBI Fingerprinting
- School Health Form : Physical and Tuberculosis Test
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Form 6004 : Arrest / Conviction Report and Certification
