Position Summary :

Provides practical nursing care to patients in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and PNHS policy.

Provides safe and effective nursing care by promoting a safe, therapeutic environment and by advocating for the best interests of individual patients.

Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights.

Education / Experience :

Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.

One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :

Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.

Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.

Basic computer / keyboarding skills required.

Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.

Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing and skill in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Department Overview :

We are a group of healthcare workers who are passionate about helping our patients with improving and maintaining their health.

With a team of 15 clinicians, we see approximately - patients each day. Our clincians consider our nursing staff as colleagues and really partner with nursing staff to take great care of our patients.

Collaborating with all members of the team is how we have continued to have good patient experience results and maintain high quality patient measures.

Our team is friendly, helpful, and engaged.

  • Our primary care departments provide a wide range of services from yearly well child check-ups, annual physicals, medicare wellness visits, acute illness visits, immunization updates, and more! We care for patients and families of all ages, and from all walks of life.
  • This position provides direct patient care and support to patients by working directly with one or more of our clinicians, along with completing nurse visits.

You are expected and supported to work at the top of your training and certification by following standard rooming processes, CDC vaccine schedules, and following pre-visit planning standing orders.

The Role :

  • As a part of our hall team (which is the team this position is part of), you will be providing professional and family-centered care to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and elderly which may include the following duties :
  • Escorting patients to exam rooms and appropriately documenting necessary visit information such as hearing / vision test, height, weight, head circumference, blood pressure, and other vitals such as pulse, temperature, and oxygenation status using appropriate equipment.
  • Preparing and administering medications, and immunizations as directed by a clinician, or per standing orders.
  • Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, such as : inhaler treatments and education, mole / cyst removal, and specimen collection such as urine tests.
  • Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
  • All members of our hall staff team are trained to cover in all 3 departments : Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics.

Clinic hours and Work Schedule :

  • Our clinic is open to serve patients am-6pm Monday Tuesday, am-5pm Wednesday - Friday.
  • For this role, this means you would be expected to work at least 1 evening each week (until 6pm). The rest of your hours would be scheduled between am-5pm.
