GENERAL SUMMARY :
The Safety Supervisor oversees daily door monitoring checks, as well as community and safety department happenings on a daily basis;
under general supervision of the Safety Director. They interact with various departments, ensuring general safety practices are being adhered to.
There is extensive resident and employee interaction, pertaining to both routine issues and sensitive situations. They conduct scheduled rounds and responds immediately to all emergency situations in the community;
while demonstrating exemplary customer service to internal and external customers at all times. The Supervisor acts as a role model for all Safety Department personnel.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES :
Assists the Safety Director with key administrative functions to include, but not limited to : access card processing, control, and distribution;
parking sticker processing, control, and distribution; maintaining inventory par levels for Kiosk and medical supplies; and lifeline emergency response system administration.
- Provides general leadership to the Safety Department team. Assists the Safety Management team with general guidance of staff on a daily basis, regarding safety department happenings and operations.
- Assists with the Safety Department’s portion of new employee orientation training as needed.
- Assists with initial and ongoing training of Safety Department personnel, including community safety training and OSHA related training, as well as random mock training session with Safety Department staff to ensure response readiness.
- Participates in employee discipline, scheduling, and review of all staff paperwork and reports.
- Serves as back up to the Safety Director in their absence from the community, displaying good judgment under potentially stressful situations.
- Assists with the daily monitoring of the Lifeline system; including resident door monitoring, emergency pendent alerts and other life safety systems.
- Performs daily door monitoring checks with the Safety Director or designated management representative, conducts scheduled internal and external rounds, maintains departmental equipment to ensure proper functioning, and reports all discrepancies and unsafe conditions to ensure the safety and security of the community.
- Responds immediately to all emergency situations at the community, practicing proper First Responder protocols and life safety policies and procedures.
Serves as a point person for any training issues that may arise with staff regarding medical calls.
Demonstrates exemplary customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING :
- Current CPR, AED, and EMT certification
- At least one year of supervisory experience within the medical response environment.
- Eighteen years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
