The Healthcare Lead Technician is responsible for the onsite installation of nurse call, security and fire life safety systems within Healthcare facilities.

You will lead a crew in the overall installation of projects as directed by Healthcare leadership and management. The Healthcare Lead Technician is a vital component to the project performing the installation of devices, running wiring, and performing basic construction needs to ensure the successful completion of client projects.

You will display an understanding of and can enforce electrical regulations, construction requirements, as well as industry standards for the project.

Responsibilities include wire pulling, project prep and clean up, troubleshooting, project documentation, customer communications, and training of technicians.

Essential Functions :

  • Is the primary contact for the customer while on site; communicates daily with the Foreman and / or Project Manager regarding job status.
  • Responsible for all project documentation; enters a daily summary into company CRM regarding the status of the project installation.

Will provide all final project documents timely for project close outs.

  • Responsible for ensuring all project materials and equipment are prepped and read to be used during the project installation.
  • Adheres to all workplace safety expectations, regulations, standards and practices
  • Lead crew on site to ensure the successful installation of project components
  • Provides system troubleshooting and makes timely corrective actions to keep project moving forward.
  • Interpret drawings and identify best methods of project completion
  • Possess knowledge of security, nurse call and fire life safety systems, including but not limited to EST3, Lenel, and Ascom
  • Punctuality and regular attendance

Position Requirements :

  • 5+ years in Construction and / or low voltage installation
  • 3+ years installing low voltage in the Healthcare environment
  • 2+ years in a leadership role (4+ years in leadership-preferred)
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
  • Must be able to get vaccinations / immunizations needed to work in healthcare facilities.
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).

TRL Systems, Inc. conducts pre-employment drug screening in accordance with Federal Contractor regulations and background checks in accordance with State and local regulations.

In addition to having many clients (hospitals, schools, etc.) who require background checks, as a federal contractor TRL is also required to complete a background check for any employee who may work on a federal contract in any capacity.

For any position that drives a Company vehicle, our insurance carrier requires criteria to be met and therefore will be a condition of employment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment :

  • Repetitive substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers
  • Walk, drive, bend, stoop, hear, and speak
  • Move / transport / install / remove items weighing 50+ pounds daily
  • Drive for 2+ hours in a work shift / day
  • You may work at extreme heights occasionally, and an indoor environment under all temperature variations. Confined spaces may occasionally be required
  • Work is performed in hospitals and other medical facilities with patient contact
