Description :
The Shipping Supervisor manages daily shipping operations, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of products. This includes supervising shipping staff, coordinating shipments, monitoring inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and shipping standards.
The supervisor will work closely with production and customer service teams to optimize shipping processes and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Leadership :
- Lead and supervise the shipping team.
- Assign and prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of shipping staff.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
Shipping Operations :
- Oversee the processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ensure accurate order picking, packing, labeling, and shipping.
- Monitor and track shipments through Production to ensure timely delivery.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and customer complaints related to delivery issues.
Inventory & Documentation :
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping activities, including bills of lading, shipment manifests, quality compliance forms, and tracking information.
- Oversee inventory control to ensure correct stock levels for shipping.
- Work with inventory and production teams to improve processes and minimize errors.
Compliance & Safety :
- Ensure all shipments comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety standards, conducting safety audits and training when necessary.
Continuous Improvement :
- Analyze shipping data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and ensure customer satisfaction.
Equipment & Maintenance :
- Ensure shipping equipment, such as forklifts, nail gun, table saws, and packaging tools, are maintained and in proper working condition.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance, as necessary.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; experience in related field, and / or Associate or Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or a related field is a plus.
Experience :
- 3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse supervision.
- Familiarity with shipping and inventory management.
Skills :
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
