Fleet Mechanic - Q3 Contracting, Gas operations

Q3 Contracting, (Q3C) a division of Primoris Services Corporation , is a full-service construction provider operating in Natural Gas Distribution & High Pressure Construction, Gas Distribution Design, HDD, Hard & Soft Surface Restoration, Traffic Control, and other specialty services.

Q3C has an experienced and highly mobile workforce that exceeds 1,500 employees. Major operations centers in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Denver, Colorado.

Branch offices are also located in Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.

Q3 Contracting is seeking a Fleet Mechanic for Commerce City, Colorado location.

Entry-level Apprentice Mechanic with a strong drive to learn and proficient mechanical abilities. Skilled in repairing and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment including engines, motors, light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty vehicles, as well as off-road equipment, trailers, generators, and compressors.

Responsibilities include performing repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functionality.

Primary Responsibilities include :

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance. Looks for maintenance issues that may need repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance, operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Repair light electrical on equipment.
• Looks for maintenance issues needing repairs.
• Performs miscellaneous welding, cutting and fabrication as needed, is not required.
• Able to properly use diagnostic equipment.

Educational & Minimum Requirements :

• High School / GED, Technical School, or 2+ years of shop experience preferred
• A Valid Drivers License is required. (Valid CDL class A- Preferred)
• Additional licenses and certificates may be required, such as Forklift Operators certification, DOT Certification, and 609 Certificate or equivalent A / C certificate are - Highly Preferred.

Compensation : $25.00 to $33.00 / hour- (Compensation will depend on qualifications and experience.)
