Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an HR Coordinator!
About the role
In this role, you'll work closely with others in support of activities, programs, and processes across all areas of human resources.
You're often the first point of contact for employees with HR inquiries.
What you will do
- Provide first level response to employee / customer questions on a broad range of HR topics (payroll, benefits, onboarding, basic system troubleshooting, etc.).
- Support HR projects, programs and initiatives.
- Provide HR operational reporting to include internal, compliance, and ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Facilitate employee on-boarding including processing and coordination with other departments.
- Coordinate transaction processing for employees, contractors and agency temps to include new hires, transfers and terminations.
- Handle general office activities to include ordering office supplies, mail distribution / shipping, resource calendaring, HR records compliance, etc.

Compensation
Hourly Range : $23.23 - $38.71 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Your experience and skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years' experience in an administrative or similar support role required.
- Prior experience in HR highly preferred with a strong desire to develop in Human Resources.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. SharePoint and prior HRIS experience a plus.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Adept prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Due to the nature of work,Human Resources employees may not have a family relationship with any Symetra employee.
