Faculty - Pediatric Nephrologist

Children’s Nebraska, together with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC ), is currently recruiting a board certified / eligible Pediatric Nephrologist to join a thriving academic practice.

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology currently comprises five physicians and three nurse practitioners, a nurse case manager, dedicated clinic and dialysis nurses, pharmacists, a dietitian, transplant coordinators, social workers, child life, a music therapist, and education specialist.

This is a unique opportunity with unlimited potential to advance a strong clinical and academic career in Pediatric Nephrology.

The position includes a competitive salary and a faculty appointment at UNMC commensurate with prior rank and experience.

We provide full service, providing care from prenatal consultation through transition to adult nephrology, inpatient and outpatient care and consultation at Children’s Nebraska.

Our team conducts multidisciplinary clinics with Urology, Cardiology and provides prenatal consultations with Urology, Cardiology, Neonatology, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Genetics.

As the only Pediatric Dialysis unit in the state, we provide comprehensive dialysis to include hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, CRRT with NxState and Carpediem.

When fully staffed, we will add plasmapheresis. Our physicians manage the medical care of kidney transplant patients in close collaboration with transplant surgeons at Nebraska Medicine.

Exciting research opportunities are available, with potential support from the Child Health Research Institute, NIH ECHO and IDeA states funding.

Existing research projects involve collaboration with Neonatology, Biochemistry, and Nutrition, and we participate in industry-sponsored clinical trials.

We are active members of the Midwest Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium. Quality improvement projects are welcomed, and we participate in SCOPE, IROC, and NAPRTCs.

Children’s Nebraska is a 225-bed, nonprofit organization. Children’s is home to the only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU in the state and the region’s first Cardiac Care Unit.
