CAMBA’s Workforce Development and Refugee Services programs annually provide thousands of low income community members with culturally competent case management, employment, education, vocational training, benefits access, health, financial literacy and English language services, in house and by referral.
CAMBA specializes in assisting those with special barriers to employment including low skilled workers, long-term unemployed, immigrants and refugees, limited English speakers, formerly homeless, seniors, formerly incarcerated, trauma survivors and victims of human trafficking.
These programs are performance-based, and success is measured by meeting enrollment, employment placement, training, retention and case management goals.
Position : Home Visit and Intake Specialist
Reports To : Program Manager
Location : 2244 Church Ave, 4th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11226
What The Home Visit and Intake Specialist Does :
- Prioritize and schedule screening calls, follow-up calls, and appointments to gather necessary information / documentation.
- Communicate and record pertinent client details and needs for the case management team.
- Collaborate with the case management team to prioritize and coordinate services and ensure accurate and thorough documentation for both new and existing clients.
- Conduct home visits to evaluate living conditions, understand client housing needs, and assess eligibility for program services.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation during home visits.
- Assess client eligibility for housing-related support and follow up with recommendations to case management team for move-in / arrears assistance, furniture assistance, interest-free loans, utility assistance, etc.

- Coordinate with programs to effectively manage inventory, tracking and distribution of promotional items.
- Participate in administrative and staff meetings.
- Provide required information for reports to CAMBA management and funders.
- Prepare marketing materials and engage in outreach activities.
- Pre-screen clients for eligibility and recommend appropriate CAMBA services / programs.
- Register clients for CAMBA programs.
Conduct home visits and complete home visit reports documenting findings
Minimum Education / Experience Required :
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and one (1) year of experience in client service or customer service required.
Other Requirements :
- Relevant education and years of experience described above.
- Strong documentation skills, including an ability to accurately record client information, complete necessary paperwork, and uphold client confidentiality.
- Client focused, culturally competent, empathetic, and flexible to client needs.
- Demonstrated ability and dedication to work with refugees, asylees, immigrant, young adults, and low income populations.
- Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Bilingual required in Creole, Ukrainian, Farsi / Dari, Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic, or Mandarin (prioritized according to current program needs).
Compensation : $47,000 annually
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate.
This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and / or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
Status : Full-time (35 hours per week)
